Seeing how facebook has been around for a while now and has not yet became any less popular, I can safely say, no I do not think facebook is just a "fad". I recommend facebook to everybody!

hardly call it a fad since its been around for awhile and out took over myspace.com
i honestly dont see the whole point of it tho. i mean yeh if u have lots of pple to talk to and who you havent seen for a while you can catch up but for me, being a antisocial person find it just boring until the people that i do talk to show up. :/ |

Its decent. Too many useless and unused, unnecessary options and features. Its only great for keeping in touch with friends and family.

I use to love facebook but now, almost all my friends are using Instagram instead of facebook. It's not so great for me anymore because there isn't anymore entertainment and communication.

I've never seen the attraction of "jumping on the Facebook bandwagon". I'm perfectly happy not having a Facebook account. I know many who use it regularly, but to me it just seems like a waste of time. People like to use it to maintain contact with family and friends, but even that seems to be getting old. Now, more companies are using it as a form of advertising.
I think for the majority of users, it is a boost to their self-esteem. People post things that make them seem interesting, even though their life probably isn't any more interesting than the next person. There is too much drama on Facebook, with people "liking" things. I've heard others compare the behavior of users on Facebook to kids in middle-school. Facebook has been around for a while, but it seems to be losing steam. I keep hearing about problems users have with privacy issues. More users seem interested in deactivating their account. It will probably fade slowly away, like Myspace, and be replaced with something newer and better. Later, we'll have issues with this new form of social media. It's a vicious cycle. |

it will evolve so it will not become history. It will evolve to become a platform for apps. Once its on smartphones.
