Companies know a lot of people get on facebook so they say, "hey I'll make a deal with you, you put my logo (or something like that) somewhere on facebook where people can see and I'll give you money (I think normally to host it plus whenever someone clicks it). That's how a lot of sites run, plus people can buy facebook credits. Oh and there's probably co-owners/some kind of share set up, but the first one is most definitely correct. |

Advertisements, which you see on the side of your Facebook feed and what not. People pay to have their companies, or websites put there. And that's how Facebook makes money!

To my knowledge, they earn via advertisement and facebook credits charges (for third party games and apps producers selling items using the credits).
