Tell him to come to your city, that your parents want to meet him (Even if this is not true.) If he agrees, then you can decide to let your parents in on your secret, or you can change your mind and tell him that you have called it off. I suspect that he will be unwilling to meet you and your parents at your house so you will have learned something about him.
