I have a gay friend that for some reason is always doing different things and he always let's other people know about the things that he does. On facebook he writes poems for example and he's always expecting people to say nice things to him about his poems, he went to a Karaoke bar, recorded himself sing, posted the video on facebook and for some reason the video ended up on my account too.

A Narcissist meaning everything is me, me, me, and they'll always talk about them self, and what they've done that's so great, but never listen to what you have to say.
Arrogant, meaning they think they're the best person ever, and think they're great at everything. Like they're a king, and they're above everyone. But your gay friend might just be insecure about being gay, so he/she seeks peoples approval and compliments as a way to reassure and convince themself that they are liked, and accepted, and people don't think they're as bad as they think of themself. |

He prob has low self esteem. That's why he needs compliments and validation from everyone.
