I have a dell Inspiron laptop and need help bad!!!!!!?
My computer is literally dead forever, it goes to a screen that says "launch startup repair (recommended)" or startup normally, either option I select it goes to windows is loading files and goes right back to that screen. I have also tried pressing f8 when I start my computer up at the dell screen and selecting the option repair your computer, still the same thing, if there is anything I can do please help!!!!

You need a system recovery disc provided in the package of your laptop. If none, another option is to reformat your computer.

Hello Josh,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. Based on your post, it appears to be a hard drive failure. Try running the hardware diagnostics and see if it shows any errors. You can follow the instructions from http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g...cid=514508 Also, If you want to e-mail me your Service Tag number and current shipping address, I can have a look at your warranty status to see what options we have. You can reach me at Krishna_KRN@Dell.com Regards, Dell-Kris K Social Media and Community Team |

Sometimes the start up repair is F8, sometimes F9, sometimes F10, or even F11 - keep rebooting and trying the next F key.
Or go to Dell.com's Technical Support page and read the manual for your make & model to get the exact instructions. Did you make a repair disk when the computer was newer? Or burn the recovery files to a flash drive or optical disks? Do you still have the hidden recovery partition on the original hard drive? If all else fails - doing a factory image recovery might loose all your personal stuff - but you'd have the best chance of getting a working computer back..... If you've saved a recent back up or Easy Transfer image - you could still get a lot of your stuff back..... |
