I see when a girl update nonsense she'll get tonnes of comment and likes, but when boys do that barely 5 or 6 likes and 3 comments

You're going to have to be pretty popular to get even half as many likes as a girl. It's just the hard truth that everyone likes girls better than guys. (I'm a guy, so I totally feel your pain)
If you want more notifications and likes, I recommend posting pictures you took on Instagram. A picture says a thousand words, so make sure it's a good one! Give it a SHORT, fun description. Also, don't post and share random junk too much or people will hate you for filling up their newsfeed. There's a lot more I could say, but I think you get the idea. Good luck!
