Why are NFL player's and coaches forced to give interviews to the media?
Are you as a franchise say we have a media blackout? Or would something like that doom the franchise?
Like what if you are a super star like Rogers or Manning and don't want to give any interviews. I know this hurts marketability... But if you are winning would that matter? Or would Goodwell step in and say you can't and fine the franchise big money..after all it's about profits. I just read that the Jets got fined because coaches were not made available within one week after the season ended. What if they just said NO interviews or social media at all. I bet something like this happens.... Ads |

I think it's stupid. The Celtics lost game 7 of the ECF. Obviously Celtics starting power forward Kevin Garnett was upset so he didn't talk to any journalists or do the press conference. The league fined him $25,000.

Why wouldn't they? Fans want to hear what they have to say and fans are paying for their job.
