Is it ok to work on internet without using anti-virus for several days?

It should be safe to surf the web without anti-virus for a few days. In fact, I used my laptop for a few months without anti-virus. Simply make sure that you don't download any suspicious stuff, best not to download anything at all. If you're really scared, you could download some free anti-virus, like gameguard. Those won't get rid of any viruses for you, but can still scan your systems to check for viruses.

I would trust all the sites you listed for a few days except facebook. Watch what you click and be weary about attachments on e-mails.

It is safe only if you have firewall on. Most of the anti-virus programs are removing viruses but not preventing them from getting in, unless their integrated firewall function is on.
But do not connect to network if your firewall is off, because even without browsing internet your PC will be attached several times per second but just registering on the network, without even opening IE. So firewall ON, and browse with case on trusted sites Ads |
