Do Repubs still believe in privatizing social security?
Now that the Repubs have caused the deepest stock market crash in history, how are Repubs feeling about the idea of getting rid of social security and using the stock market for all retirement accounts?
I guess nobody knows if that is still a part of the Republican platform. Ads |

check what caused all this - mortgages that should never have been given out - but certain groups believed we should make some adjustments - which was a done deal long before bush took office

Social Security faces a hugh problem. If you only do what the Democrats want to do you have two choices. One make major cuts in benefits or two make hugh increases in taxes and continue to make those increases. Right now our birthrate is probably just below the replacement rate and programs like social security require a growing population. Yes our population is growing but that is because of immigration. The kind of immigrants the Democrats want in are low pay earners and more likely to end up on welfare. That just makes funding social security worse.
