Why does it take Facebook 14 days to delete an account?

I'm in the mist of deleting my current account and creating a new one because of a virus. When I did delete it say something like my account is disabled but it will be permantly deleted in 14 days. I think 14 days is outragoues and most sites only take 24 hour to delete. Why does FAcebook do this? Do it want to "save" my profile to their database or something?

I deleted (deactiveated minee) and umm it tok like a minute haha. and it wasnt long ago maybe like 3-4 months ago.. No clue now. Maybe too much people on fb

It takes them that long because there are a lot of incompetents who work there and don't know what they're doing.
