Is it true facebook is getting shutdown?

I have heard a lot of rumors about facebook be shutdown today, or some time in march, is it true? Or is it a rumor? If it is, why?

People are getting chain letters saying "Forward this message to your friends" basically it explains that the owner of Facebook is warning you, forward the message that Facebook will be shutting down and if you don't you'll get deleted. It's a lie. Facebook is not shutting down, it has no reason to. You have nothing to worry about.

Mark Zuckerberg is all upset about his photo leaking onto Facebook. In an effort to stay further spreading of this embarrassing photo, he's shutting down Facebook with immediate effect, until the last traces of it can be deleted off the internet.

No facebook will not be shutting down. They have over a billion users and so if there was any indication of facebook shutting down it would be all over the news, BBC, CNN etc. People tend to start rumours for fun to see how far they can spread, possibly hoping to become a famous troll. Just ignore the silly kid who started it.
