Why is it that every time I log into Facebook I'm automatically redirected to something called mybookface.net?

This is really frustrating. I have found no solution on the web but I have seen forums with many others having this same problem. As I type this AVG is scanning my computer but I don't think this is the work of a virus. If you have any advice on how to correct this irritation it would be much appreciated.

Sounds like your Facebook account has been compromised and redirect code injected.

I'm getting this too :[

It only seems to happen on Firefox, and only on one particular laptop: I logged into my account on a friend's laptop and was not redirected.

I'm going to check my info section etc and see if there are any malicious codes, however as Facebook doesn't allow script i'm not sure how this could be the answer. I've run an anti-virus but nothing has come up, so whatever it is, its doing a good job of hiding.

Looks like either someone is messing with whoever created the MyBookFace site, to try and get it shut down. Or the site is phishing for log-on info. If its the second option, then it must be a general Facebook issue and will be fixed soon, hopefully!

I am really glad that is not just me. It has been bugging me since yesterday.

I do not think it is account related because I can log in on my facebook account at work and nothing is wrong, but at home it is a different story. I too use Firefox at home, so maybe it is something that is affecting an account while on Firefox. I say account on Firefox because my wife's computer does not seem affected and she is using Firefox as well. Hope it is fixed soon if the problem isn't on my side.

EDIT:

OK Looks like I may hove found the culprit. I was not getting redirected on IE, just Firefox, so I started thinking it had to be something related to Firefox and facebook, since that was the only site that I was getting redirected from. I then remembered that I added a "dislike" button application back sometime in November. I disabled that and got no more redirects, so I re-enabled it and it started again... uninstalled the app and so far no more redirects.

So if you have this application installed, and I am betting you probably do, Un-install it.

Go to the top bar and click on Tools/ Add-Ons and look for the app under extensions and click on the uninstall option.

Hope this help.

well it's good to see it's not just me, i ran a program i found called ASquared free to see if maybe it would work, and it did in fact find a trojan in my computer, i'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but i'm still getting redirected even after removal, i'm assuming it.s either a firefox issue, seeing so many people are dealing with this using firefox, or there is some type of issue relating to facebook and mybookface. i'm going to paste the website where i found and use the programs i have on my computer. i'm going to say this very clearly IN NO WAY AM I TELLING ANYONE to use these programs. these are simply what i use and trust. later today, i'm going to access all my accounts (as this happens with myspace too) and i'm going to change the passwords, to prevent anything from being stolen. good luck and best wishes to all who are also combating this issue.

Exactly the same for me. I have disabled the dislike button and hopefully this will resolve the issue. Good luck everyone.
