How do I make it where anyone can add me on facebook?

I apparently have the settings on my facebook to where only friends of friends can add me. How can I make it where anyone can add me. My friend is trying to add me

go to your privacy settings
click on edit settings on the right of how to connect
a box appears. click on the arrow on the right of "who can send you friend requests?"
a drop down menu opens.
select public or everyone. save it.
Then everyone can send you friend requests.
