What does a # mean on facebook statuses?

On facebook people write it with a sentece on their status and i really wonder what it means ? Is it just for the snetnce to look nice ? Thanks

Odds are they are linked to their Twitter feed and the # you see are twitter hashtags.

Some people put # or "hash tags" in Facebook statues but they are used in Twitter and Instagram not Facebook. Just people think its the same but it's not and it look really weird on Facebook:-p

it's a hashtag it's because people forget that facebook isn't twitter.

Is a Hash Tag It Reefers to a Topic That there Talking About Some People Have There Twitter Connected to There Facebook So Status Updates on Both Networks and When They Post that On Twitter People On Twitter Can Click on that and it will Show who Else is Talking about that Particular Item
