The Twitter Trending Thing..??
It makes me sick. I don't care if some match is world-trend on twitter. Cole is obsessed with Twitter. |

"_____ is now trending on Twitter!!!!" That is, by FAR, the most annoying part of the WWE these days.
The WWE has always been very...self conscious about needing to be "cool". Professional wrestling has struggled since Steve Austin and The Rock moved on to remain cool and hip in the mainstream, and that challenge has only increased now that it has been firmly stigmatized by the fact that everyone labels it as "fake" (even it's own fans, which doesn't help). So to counter that, the WWE often goes overboard and latches onto whatever is the new "cool" thing in the mainstream media. Right now, it's Facebook and Twitter, so the WWE basically screams to the whoever will listen: "Hey! We have Facebook! We have Twitter! We're cool!", and unfortunately, it doesn't come across as cool, it comes across as that poseur in high school who is always trying to keep up with the cool kids by copying whatever they're doing. The WWE doesn't seem to understand this though. Splashing Michael Cole on all their programming by saying "____ is now trending on Twitter" every 30 seconds grows very tiresome very fast. At least the "Did you know" pieces are somewhat interesting from time to time. |

The twitter trending pop ups hands down. Seriously its like telling the audience "Oh forget about the show guys just go on twitter to see what our Superstars are b!tching about now."
