Is there anything wrong with not having a Facebook account?

Not at all, in my opinion.
I don't have one, because I don't want one. Period. People have tried to convince me to sign up, (even my mom is on FB!) but I just politely decline, and tell them I'm not interested. I think Facebook is boring, honestly, and I'm not interested in wasting my energy on it. It's just another set of passwords to remember, and I have ENOUGH passwords as it is! If I really want to talk to someone, I'll call them on the phone, or something. You should NEVER feel "required" to have something, even if people try to tell you otherwise. Don't give in to peer pressure, and you'll feel much better about yourself. |

No, it's not weird.
I got hacked, so I decided to deactivate my FB account. In my opinion there are many disadvantages of using FB: Fake friends or acquaintances add you, but never talk to you. Classmates gossip about pictures you post. Prank messages. Jealousy and the list goes on..... They are always trying to figure out how you live your life. It's like you are being watched all the time. Sometimes I'm not even interested in other people's lives. I'm already busy with living my life to the fullest. Of course, I always keep in touch with my friends, but not over FB anymore. I have never felt more liberated! It's not like I'm antisocial. I just think that FB is overrated. |
