That's what's so cool about debt - you can make the same people rich over and over and over and....

The wealthiest Americans don't want to get rid of the debt - it's what keeps them rich.

True, it has already been stolen, and replaced with IOUs

There is no lock box

There is no trust fund

SS comes out of general revenue, and SS tax goes into general revenue

Democrats spend it all

And Democrats refuse to cut spending and fix the debt problem

And just FYI, taxing the "Rich" will not solve the debt problem, and will not generate anywhere near the revenue you may think; if any additional revenue at all. It will merely kill the economy

"Socialism is a wonderful idea. It is only as a reality that it has been disastrous. Among people of every race, color, and creed, all around the world, socialism has led to hunger in countries that used to have surplus food to export.... Nevertheless, for many of those who deal primarily in ideas, socialism remains an attractive idea -- in fact, seductive. Its every failure is explained away as due to the inadequacies of particular leaders

Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it.

It's true all the money that has been paid into Social Security has been spent. The bonds are nothing but an "I owe me" issued by the government.

And a government can run without borrowing money. Why borrow it at all if you have the ability to just print it?

This is a favorite claim of political hacks, but it's basically the same as when Reagan did the same exact thing, spending imaginary interest on money we didn't have anyway.
