Instead of Social Security should old people without $ be sent to live with church families as "paupers"?

HELL NO! That's horrible to even think that. These "old people" paid into the system for years and you want to steal their money? How heartless can you be?

"Pauper" by Webster Dictionary means, 1) "A person destitute of means except such as are derived from charity: Specif: one who receives aid from public poor funds. 2) a very poor person.

No, monetary value is only thought of by people that have it. Usually these people have less care for humanity than people with no money. I ask, who will be the ones to destroy this planet, those with money, or those without?

By the way, how old are you, you old fart?

Of course not.
The current Republican platform calls for diverting the contributions of the current workers - who are now paying the benefits of the current elderly - into "investment accounts", which would leave the current elderly unfunded.

They could then declare Social security insolvent and end it, or force the Democrats to borrow to support it. Since church attendance is not so high - I doubt church families could or would take up the suddenly unsupported elderly.

This would leave the boomers and the greatest generation in the terrible circumstance of having paid for their elderly Social Security benefits all their lives and be left without.

Bush tried but was not able to accomplish this and it contributed to his poor poll numbers in his second term.

I want my 45 years of money, that I EARNED, and was forced to pay into Social Security, WITHOUT ANY CHOICE, plus the prime rate lending interest that it has earned. Get it now? Social Security was initiated to "track individuals for taxation purposes" and was passed into law by Congress under FDR's watch as the New Deal which developed the first Social Security programs. I had no say as to what is done with the money I earned and that was taken from me.

By the way, the churches are too busy building huge ornate buildings to impress themselves to really help out anyone truly in need.
