facebook useful or time waste?

Facebook or twitter or any social media is being used in India as a wasteful resource only. These social media brought revolutions in countries like Egypt, Yemen etc., whereas in India it is not so. When Anna Hazare launched anti-corruption crusade many people gave likes to India Against Corruption page. But when they were asked to congregate for a agitation/struggle, a handful of followers were turned up. Rest were deemed to have provided moral support. This is the case for many such scenarios. Youngsters want to show their prowess and facebook is one such media for them. Youth want to have more friends or followers and hence keep on adding people, with whom they dont have even a remote contact. Most people spend endless precious time in front of Facebook and twitter forgetting their duties and responsibilities just to get likes, comments for their posts/updates/status etc. At the same time facebook has a few advantages too, when a employee of a company sought blood for his colleague for an operation in the facebook, many unknown fellows turned up at the hospital for donating blood.Face book has many good as well as bad and notorious pages. It is upto one to decide which page one wants to browse and like etc.,

From one side we can tell its is useful also and waste of time also, but addicted to it is not good.

According to me, Facebook is waste of time. A survey by Pew Research Center found that 61% of current Facebook users admitted that they had voluntarily taken breaks from the site and the main reason they told is that Facebook is Waste of Time.

It depends on person to person. If your fb friends are real and you know them personally ;then its useful. If you have added many unknown ppl even fake ids;then you may disappointed
