If Conservatives stopped talking: Abortion Rights, Gay Issues, Social stuff, change directions for 2012 win?

The GOP/Teabag/Fox 'News'/Jesus Freak party has set all of their markers into concrete. The only possible movement for these folks is further to the right. ANY republican that would dare to move toward the center would be called a RINO and that person would see zero corporate moola heading his or her way. Basically the GOP has embraced a latter day fascisti way of defining government, what it should do and how it should do it. They've walked to the very edge of the political spectrum and have failed to bring the country with them....but not for lack of trying. That doesn't mean they can't win in this next election cycle, but if they do the 'republic' is a dead duck. Private wealth and public poverty will reduce this country to 3rd world status for huge numbers of our population. Even if they lose they're bound to continue their war on the 95% of us that make up the working class. It will be ugly!

FIRST.... No matter how much they talk on "social issues".... there will NOT be a significant change in voter opinions..... they do not need to talk "social issues" because they already have the vote of those that agree with them.....and will NEVER get the vote of those that do not agree with them

SECOND.... The issue this election will be the ECONOMY..... unemployment....wasting tax money....building the economy.... etc etc....

FINALLY ...Do not know if it is a change of direction..... conservatives have been yelling about this for three years

Nope, that would be just what you liberal Democrats want. We Republican conservatives have got to make an all out effort to dethrone king Osamabama, and stop the American plunge 'to hell in a handbasket'!

I think all this "YOU PEOPLE" vs "US" needs to stop. Also I think it is flat out wrong to control people's personal lives. And that is where conservatives are morally wrong. Liberals need to stop taxing the bloody hell out of the middle class so the lazy can continue being lazy... both sides are wrong sometimes.

However, we need to stop focusing on the social issues.. Focus on what will actually help the country, like education, job creation, etc.

EDIT: Papaw.. really? /lesigh.. Keep thy visions of hell to thyself. I love how religious right-crazies think that everyone wants to hear their doomsday crap and that anyone really cares. Believe it or not, there are other faiths just as valid as yours..

What do you want us to talk about? The weather?
Social issues are the topic!!
We have plans to fix employment, but you think ILLEGALS have more rights to work in America than Americans do!!
You also have odd ideas about the housing market!! We want to hold those responsible for the housing crash accountable and you want to throw money at them!!
And taxes!! We want to eliminate some of the taxes that shouldn't be taxed and you want to raise taxes!! You tax the families of the dead! WHY? You want to tax someone who inherited a buck or two! WHY? Letting them have that money to spend will only help the economy!!
Let's encourage men to _u_k other men and women to use dildos instead of the real thing!! Yea, you liberals/democrats are on the right path!!
You fail in so many ways!!!

We all as conservatives should do our part. Whatever we choose to fight against, weather it be the social disease that comes about with liberal behavior or saving the economy. We need to address all issues that are destroying our once great country so we can have her back.

No one ever gets anything done. Conservatives keep liberals from doing anything, then take away rights of people just because they are different. Not to mention accuse Obama of being a Muslim who was never born in the US. They also want to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. I plan on leaving the country as soon as I graduate, I'm so tired of the politics here.

No, the Republicans will talk about those issues, more importantly they will talk about the lost jobs, unwise debt, and the economy. Best thing I've seen lately is this bumper sticker "In 2008 many people voted for Obama to prove they where not racists. Most will vote for someone else in 2012 to prove they are not idiots." Who ever ends up running against the teleprompter reader in chief will just have to run against Obama's record to win.

Yes, I think that the focus of the 2012 elections should be economic and include a vision about rebuilding this country. Tea Party people are not really talking about values issues, but religious conservatives will always be concerned with those matters. I hope that chatter does not drown out the real message which should be getting America back to work.
