If Conservatives stopped talking: Abortion Rights, Gay Issues, Social stuff, change directions for 2012 win?

Should the Conservatives/TEA Party/Republicans stop talking about all the Social Issues and what seems to passing judgment on others? Get to the point of their plan for JOBS, fixing the Housing Market, raising Taxes? Should they change their direction if they want to win in 2012?

Actually, they don't talk too much about the social issues lately. It's mostly Repeal Obamacare, get spending under control, cut taxes to boost the economy, etc.
