Why do I get "people you may know" on FB?
1. What does that mean? Does that mean they have searched for me?
2. If I've searched for others, would they know Ive searched for them? Would they get notifications in the "people you may know"? Thanks Ads |

its all down to your friends list, if you are friends with some one and they have a friend in their list it assumes that you may know that person as well

The algorithm facebook uses is much more complex.Facebook conisders several metrics to decide that list, like mutual friends, mutual groups, interests.Education, workplace etc.I believe it also takes into consideration, that you have searched for them and you have seen their profile, but this is only a guess. No notification is sent to that user(This is facebook privacy policy) when you search or see someones's profile.
