Remember when Bush wanted to throw Social Security on the mercy of the stock market?
Which promptly collapsed, and would have taken all of our savings with it. Why do Cons like Sharron Angle and Newt Gingrich think it'll work better this time?

At least there would be something left instead of IOUs. Or maybe you haven't heard the SS is bankrupt.

Social Security will stop adding to the surplus in 2016
Social Security will begin to lose funds in 2023
Social Security will be completely bankrupt by 2030

Well the conservatives are kind of like children, you can tell them it wont work but until they try it and see it fail they will not understand. Kind of like how pain is necessary to get the point across that something is wrong (a spanking).

Because the free market is magic, silly! It fixes everything, even faulty logic!

lol, I have more money in my private reitrement funds than the looted SS fund. lol you'd be better off putting your money in a cardboard box outside you front door than relying on SS.

Yes I do . Newt is irrelevant . ( and an a**hole ).. What would we turn over ? The box of iou's ? The scary part is there ar still many who want to try . If they " privatize " it will mean several new millionaire bonuses . Ahhh , the smell of somebody else's money ...

Have you ever looked at the history of the market?
Look at the 5-10-15 year performance of stocks, then look at the imaginary SSA "trust fund" and tell me what you would honestly trust?
I would rather be able to take my 6% SSA contribution and invest it myself.
If you know nothing of the market then stay with SS, let me opt out any day.
