FB: Yesterday I commented on a friend's status and received notifications of others who did too. But...?

Yes this happens and nothing is wrong with your settings. Facebook just realizes that people probably don't want infinite notifications. If you comment again, then you should start receiving notifications about any comments afterwards.

Make sure you have clicked "follow" on the status if you want to make sure you receive notifications.
