Is it a good idea to include my facebook and twitter web addresses on my CV?

I always keep my activity on facebook and twitter clean and have nothing to hide from potential employers. Would including the web addresses improve my CV?

No they have no bearing on the job you are applying for. They may search for you anyway, but dont give it to them outright.

No it wouldn't improve it. Having a link to your social networking site could lead them to think you're a facebook/ twitter addict and might be on them instead of working.

Trust me, employeers find potential employees on the internet anyway, but having it on your CV might make them think you'll be on them instead of working.

Absolutely NOT! Think of all the people you know on Facebook, think of some of the silly, rude, boorish and outright stupid things that have been posted and are linked to you. An employer does not and should not have access to any employee social media pages. The same applies with Twitter.

What possible reason could there be for thinking that this would be a good idea, or that an employer would even be interested. They will just think you are an idiot.

No, unless it's something key to the job (eg a facebook page advertising services, etc) otherwise don't. Also make sure your email address is sensible, nothing worse than someone who claims to be sensible (eg teacher applying for a job) and having an address like 'hotcurveshoney@hotmail.com'. Says it all and we didn't employ them.
