Look at it this way. If 5 friends were ordering pizza and you didn't like the toppings they picked. Since its was democratic vote and your splitting the costs you contribute. When the pizza arrives you eat just not to be hungry and let your money go to waste even if you don't like it. Same as Social Secirity.
