No, because people have forgotten how to socialize. They know how to open a browser, not talk to a friend.

No

Farcebook is basically volunteering to be under surveillance, not that yahoo and google isn't the same.

Even though it was created to socialize people around the world, that came out completely wrong. I mean look on the streets. Everyone is on their phone/tablet/iPad/laptop browsing Facebook, talking to people they barely know instead of going out and meet new people. People you can really trust and hang out with, not some sick pedophile acting like he is your age. I am not trying to say we should not use Facebook, but we have to have our real social life, out there, on the real world.
In my opinion Facebook its ruining friendships and its far away from making the world a better place.

Its maybe helped people get in touch with people they wouldn't normally meet. If your a member of groups in particular you can make friends from around the world.

Its good for families to keep in touch with who have moved far away or abroad. The trouble is though people look on each others home pages and know what every one is doing without any real interaction, its possible to know what someone is doing, what there favorite football team is without even having met them.

FB has in the past been used to organize rioting and civil unrest here in the UK. I guess you can't really blame FB for that - but maybe for destroying the art of conversation and Socializing.

Whilst it calls itself a social network, I do not see it as that, its not social as i understand the definition of the word. I don't believe any any so called social network can make the world a better place.

Only human beings can do that.

I know a lot of people that are really happy with
Face Book. Because they can stay in touch with
family, and friends. The only reason I have Face
Book is, so I can keep up with my kids and grand
kids. I only go on Face Book about three times a
week for about 10 minutes.
