Ok first of all, a medium to large bird HAS to be over $1000.
SO I suggest you get a tinier bird. If you want a medium bird to large bird, then look up these if you want: Cockatiels Green cheek conure Sun conure Jenday conure Meyers parrot Senegal Eclectus Macaws(my favs are B&G macaw, military macaw, green winged macaws, hyacinth macaws--they cost about $10,000 dollars though) Cockatoos(I suggest the bare eyed, citron, goffins for starters. Sulphur crested, lesser sulphur crested, moluccan, umbrella, major mitchell's. and for the ultimate owners, black palms. They are SOOO rare many people never heard o them!!) Inida ringnecks Mustcahe parakeets Dusky conure Great billed parrot Amazon parrots Those r some of my favs! Okay I know I listed ALOT, but there are ALOT more< kay? Ads |

Not trying to be rude, but under $600 for a large bird, or even some medium ones, is not possible.
If you have the money and time and space, a typical large macaw will be AT LEAST $1000, and the biggest parrot, the hyacinth macaw, can go to $10,000. Be prepared. Did you study? Read lots of books, the internet, tips from real bird owners. Studying is VERY important. To know what you are up for and not abandon your bird when you thought this was not what I expected. If you think you can, here are some great medium and large birds: Green cheek conures--medium, $150-$500 Cockatiels--medium, $130-$150 Senegal parrot--medium, $200-$500 Quaker parrots--medium, $100-$300 Caiques--medium, $100-$300 African grey parrots--large, $600-$2000 Amazon parrots--large, $600-$1500 Cockatoos--large, $800-$5000+ Eclectus parrots--large, $600-$1200 Macaws--large, $900-$5000+ (there are mini macaw species--yellow collared, severe macaw, hahn's macaw--they cost less than large macaws and are easier to care for) These are some of the medium and large birds. They are a lot of work but always very rewarding! Ads |

African grey. I have one and shes 12 years old. Theyre very affectionate and clever. She actually talks like a human. She knows everyones names and calls them when she wants something. You can even potty train them. Theyre very fun pets to have and have al lifespan of 50 years :o
Mine actually makes up her own songs and sings them ahahahah and when were watching a comedy shell laugh along with everybody else. And when youre crying shell actually climb into you lap and stare at your face <3 theyre extremely charming and smart...like talking dogs! |
