No, that's not what he wanted to do, he wanted to make availabel for the individual to do it if they so choose to....dang people get it right!

SSI was never meant to be an investment. Its insurance.

Look at it this way... The market is down 40% so we would have theoretically lost 40% & have 60% left. But what really happened is Washington spent it ALL so its all gone. There is nothing left

you are assuming that there is a social security trust fund, there is not any such trust fund. the politicians spent all of the money that was supposed to be held over for social security benefits.

First of all it would not have been put into stocks directly. I would be like a HUGE money market acount with managers who do this stuff everyday. My money market and Ira are both up. and he was saying you would have a choice. so you would not have to do it if you didn't want to.
