Do girls care if you ask for their number over facebook?

I want a girls number and its break so I wont see her for another 2 weeks. Should I wait to ask her in person? or just ask on facebook?
I dont think its hard to ask.. I was just wondering if girls thought badly of it, Democritus couldnt of answered it better

If she cares, then you don't want to date her anyway. I ran into a girl once at a bar, but didn't get her number but I suspected she liked me. I kept going back to the bar, but she was never there. I looked her up on facebook and messaged her, and got her number. Long story short we dated for almost 2 years.

I'd say to strike while the iron is hot. In 2 weeks some other dude could move in and take her.

Well actually I talked to a girl on facebook. We were talking for hours but occasionally my dad would want the computer so we had to stop. At one point she gave me her number so we could talk without facebook.

I don't know where I'm going with this but maybe if you talk to her enough, you could get it or it would make it easier to ask.
