Yes, as a general rule it is a red flag. The first few dates should be in a neutral location. If you decide to go back to someone's house after that, then that's one thing, but starting there can be a very bad idea.

Let us get our terms straight. You have not met but have been in contact with someone who says he is a guy but you have no idea if that is even close to accurate, who wants to have a first date with you at his house. Does that seem like a rational plan to you?

No, it's a great idea. Make sure you don't tell anyone his name, address, or even that you have a date with him that way they can't interrupt you. Also make sure you drink anything he gives because you don't want to be rude.

Huge red flag he either just wants sex or he's a killer/rapist. Either suggest a public place or say no thank you.
