Why is Facebook worth so much?

Facebook is worth 25 billion dollars, there are 500 million users, that works out at 50 dollars per user, but it is free to use, and most people dont click on the advertisments, and they wouldnt spend 50 dollars, so why is it worth so much?

Youd be surprise how many people click on advertisements. Companies see it as habit a huge crowd that they can get their hands on. That's why its worth so much.

lots of people, big companies = expensive advertisements. its not about clicking on the advertisement its about getting the idea stuck in your head so when it comes time to buy a product like a car you think honda or whatever it may be

All the above. Also, the "worth" of a company depends on how much people think it will grow in the future. Investors see Facebook getting bigger and bigger, not smaller.

The idea behind Facebook is good, but technical speaking it sucks!
