Forget it. They prefer to insure domestic tranquility.

First thing that comes to my mind, and I must admit I'm not putting all my efforts in being as precise as you might need because there are some extremely important news coming over the wires right now, I believe a case in point might be Egypt where I'm sure their own media played a big role, and needless to say CNN, via Anderson Cooper did a lot of activism in favor of the Egyptian people. Next in line was Libya, with horrible results by the way because not only was Qaddafi murdered horribly and his son also tortured and murdered, the crazed mass of people stopped this man from having been tried and given jail time or properly executed.

The media tried helping out with Iran about a year ago when hundreds of thousands took to the streets, but Iranians which as you know are Persian civilization are astute in many, many ways--probably in ways we Westerners ignore--and thus in a way things seem to bounce right off them...By the way it is such a shame that human beings are so intent in trying to either outdo each others or simply annihilate one another. Persia was not only a wonderful and intelligent civilization already thousands of years ago (from the point of view of historians, anyway), but I am sure that there is still incredibly interesting and beautiful culture in Iran and instead of wishing to destroy everything they stand for (just like they wish the same for Israel, of course), we should all be mutually enjoying these marvelous stories, histories, buildings, arts, etc.
