How seriously are you preparing for the impending storm; especially East coast folks?

Although we here in the mid- western part of S. Carolina will feel no more affect than we are now, which is some stiff breezes, I fear for my son who lives on the Jersey shore about 65 miles south of NYC. My daughter lives along the shore of the Long Island Sound in Connecticutt. I'll be keeping close watch and in touch with them. It'll be interesting to see if the Federal and state governments have learned anything from their failures of the past.
