How to prevent my parents from seeing certain things that I do on facebook?

Create Lists for different groups of people eg Family, School, Girls etc.

Then when you post something, via the Settings (cog icon), you can choose the visibility of the post to certain Lists - eg choose all Friends, but not Family.
