Do you agree/disagree with candidates who have expressed willingness to privatize Social Security?

It's a red herring dog whistle for the investor class.

A privatized social security is an oxymoron, it would essentially loot the social security surplus fund and use tax-payer funded "social security" as a pyramid scheme for investors.

Investors could if it were made available to them, use this S.S. surplus to gamble away most if not all of the social security surplus and all retirees eligible for social security would get, is a big fat worthless IOU from the wall street casino gamblers.

And guess who would be stuck bailing out the investor class gamblers when they've burned through all that S.S. surplus?

All non-rich taxpayers.

Of course, there's always an ulterior motive behind destroying the legacy of FDR and Social Security.

If the right were to succeed in destroying S.S., that would leave one less, (non-corporate) entitlement program congress would have to allocate money or regulation funding/oversight.

Guess where that freed up money would likely go?

Into more investor-centric government spending, primarily the unsafe for anyone war toy corporate monster machine.

A broken defunct S.S. would seriously cripple the appeal of democrats to most older or cusp of retirement voters, that's the ultimate pay-off besides enriching wall street speculators, investors, and gamblers at tax-payer expense.

The worst problem is short-sighted trust-fund babies who have no problem "phasing out S.S." or "raising the retirement age".

A few responses seem like verbatim Beck talking points demonizing S.S. as if it were some "liberal" mafia or boiler-room investment scam.

Last of all, what do you say to people who need it today just to get by?

Do you think the same people who have no long-term vision will volunteer to house all their old relatives once S.S. has been eliminated for the sake of the investor class?

Eliminate S.S. and be prepared to see more homeless old people wandering around cities and suburbs defecating on your front porch, etc.

Human cruelty apparently has no shame when it comes to the selfish politics of "I've got my pile of money stashed away, screw everybody else"!
