If Tea Party members hate social security, then why don't we let them opt out of Social Security and Medicare?

Return the money paid it and I will go for it.

Let's do it then!
Doubt your libtard politicians will agree though.
They like stealing from it too much.

It would never be allowed. Additionally, most of them have been paying into the system for decades. They see it as getting their money back. But then again, they couldn't take more than they paid in and remain logically consistent now could they?

This was George Bush's idea, to let people control up to 5% of their own social security so it will be there when they need it, and can will the account to their children when they die. But the dem congress wouldn't pass it.

It's too late for me to opt out, I retire next year on your money. When I'm out in my golf cart, I'll be thinking of the 10 young people that pay for my lifestyle.

What, no amnesty? That seems so un-liberal.

Sorry, but social security does not allow an opt -out. It does allow a deferral of benefits to an older age, and at that point the payments are higher.

Medicare is another story, though.

Generally, you show a failure to understand the tea party. They WANT their benefits, and they don't want YOU to have YOURS.

Bush attempted to get a portion of the Social Security privatized but was unable to do so.

Unless I can opt out (and receive some of the money I have poured into the program against my will) I am hardly going to opt out at the point I am about to receive me portion of a payback.

I am only 40

Great. Let me opt out and reimburse me for everything I've put in.. and I'll be all over this idea.

Social security is either going to be bankrupt in a decade or the government will have to dump huge amounts of money into it. You can pay for it.. I'll sit and watch.

That is really silly of you to think Tea Party members hate SSI.

Where do you come up with things like that. Is it that all libs are to greedy and don't care
about the future? I don't know how old you, but if you don't know that something needs to be
fixed there then you certainly don't have a clue.

But I bet you really don't care as long as you can get:{

Because then we'll still have to help them when they're elderly. If we're going to do that, we might as well stick with the system.

for the next generation will be cripple at an early age from living on concrete
I worked on concrete 15 years and it ruined my legs,
I wish i am wrong, but I think not.
