If Tea Party members hate social security, then why don't we let them opt out of Social Security and Medicare?

This was George Bush's idea, to let people control up to 5% of their own social security so it will be there when they need it, and can will the account to their children when they die. But the dem congress wouldn't pass it.
It's too late for me to opt out, I retire next year on your money. When I'm out in my golf cart, I'll be thinking of the 10 young people that pay for my lifestyle. What, no amnesty? That seems so un-liberal. |

Sorry, but social security does not allow an opt -out. It does allow a deferral of benefits to an older age, and at that point the payments are higher.
Medicare is another story, though. Generally, you show a failure to understand the tea party. They WANT their benefits, and they don't want YOU to have YOURS. |

That would be a nice idea but who then would pay for it? The liberal elites who want to give everything to everybody? Don't think it would work. You have a good day now
