Facebook App Patent Question?
I was wondering if I can patent an application designed to be integrated with Facebook if the process is a common process but not yet implemented onto a Facebook app. Outside of Facebook, the process of the application I'm pretty sure cannot be patented since it's somewhat common.
I suppose an analogy may be: Vanilla Ice Cream itself may not be able to be patented but, if Vanilla Ice Cream was somehow used with Facebook, can it be patented? *This is an unreal example. Ads |

If the invention has already been implemented by others and it would be "obvious" to those with ordinary "skill in the art" to implement it in an FB app, then there are at least three reasons you couldn't patent it.
1. It's not new. 2. It would be an obvious combination of old inventions. 3. You did not invent it. |
