How is capitalism beneficial for the average person if the capitalist gets wealthy off your labour?

Luckily for the capitalists, they own the government. For a while, they kept drolling on about trickle down, but now they don't even need to repeat the lie. The capitalists real enemy is the vote. The vote brought them to their knees in Western Europe, where workers actually have some say in how to run the government. The only problem in the US is that we don't have a party to represent the working class. The Republicans know their clientele is the rich, and spar with the Democrats for the middle class, and shy away whenever they're called socialists. In Europe, being called a socialist is actually a complement.

Corporations created the middle-class. You act as if we all just free-labor slaves.

Almost everyone has the "tools" to produce goods and services.

All you need is a brain and a couple of hands.

Granted, some people lack the brains.

Do you realize how many average people in the U.S. have gotten wealthy through capitalism? NO because you have your communist red star stuck in your eye so you are blind to reality

Since you are not a capitalist, how can you know? Have you ever STUDIED or read up about capitalism? Take your "laboUr" and go home!

If you want to really educate yourself, start with reading the book, "Capitalism and Freedom," by Nobel Prize for Economics author, Dr. Milton Friedman.

One difference between conservatives and liberals: Conservatives are guided by TRUTH. Liberals try to GUIDE the Truth.

Republican since before she was born… and PROUD of it.

Two things your question fails to take into account...

1) The "capitalist" doesn't get wealthy off the average person's labor. The Capitalist gets wealthy when the average person gives the capitalist their money. Why is the 1% the 1%? Because the 99% give them their money...liking paying money to watch rich athletes play a game, or rich actors perform in movies, or buying "upgrades" to software or cellphones we really don't need, or using social media sites like Facebook (or Y!A) that are really not necessary, or buying replacements for things like TV's or cars before the old TV or car is even close to wearing out.

2) In the commonly available alternatives, whether it's Socialism or Communism, the average person doesn't share in any success either. In those cases the capitalist is replaced by "the state" and the 1% is replaced by the Party insiders. Not an improvement in my opinion.

You hid your caveat deep into the question. " BUT the vast majority of the profit should go to the workers." is NOT something that our "capitalists" believe in anymore. American workers haven't received a pay raise that exceeded the rate of inflation for @ 34 years, as our "capitalists" have decided that the lions share of the proceeds of a capitalistic enterprise should go to executives and investors, rather than to those providing the labor to produce the product.
