Is there a website that can take a short URL and tell you where is goes to without actually going there?
Short URLs like bit.ly/5g34Sd are used all over the place. The only problem is that I assume it would be a simple matter to use one to hide a referral code or lead to a dangerous site. It there a site that will take the short URL and tell you where it really goes without going there?

What's behind that short link? Try Unfurl.com, this will let you see how trustworthy the short URL is.
http://unfurlr.com/ If it's a short url that was created by google as seen below. Then you can check the analytics by putting .info after the short URL in the web browser. IE http://goo.gl/otXuMl.info I use the google shortener and analytics to see who visits my webpage. http://goo.gl/otXuMl is my webpage by the way. Cheers, |
