What is a lightweight linux distro that gives me access to google chrome?
Here's the deal. I'm on an HP Mini 311. ChromeOS (ChromiumOS) won't work because wifi drivers don't exist.
I just need a fast (FAST) operating system that loads quickly, connects to the net and gives my Google Chrome for doing my writing with Google Docs/Drive. What is the absolute most lightweight Linux distro that will run off of a USB drive, boot quickly and give me Chrome? Thanks. Ok...I know that I can install Chrome on nearly any Linux distro...I'm asking for a distro specifically that is ULTRA FAST that will also run Chrome. For instance I know Puppy Linux is blazingly fast but I'm not certain I can install Chrome on it. Ads |

Chrome will work on any of the most popular distros, like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc.
http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop http://www.linuxmint.com/ I'd recommend this for creating a bootable USB drive - http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-u...-as-1-2-3/ Download whichever Linux OS you want then use the above program to make a bootable USB. You can download chrome for Linux here - https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/br...form=linux Or you can probably also download it via the software center in the linux OS. |
