I really don't have any special information on that and can only guess that they were given your site as an affiliate sales candidate that their system is reviewing for approval.
I looked into it: aranhabot , amzn_assoc appear to be the names of the Amazon.com robot for checking their affiliate sites There is a thread discussing the myterious robot traffic from AWS (the amazon cloud web services division). http://www.webmasterworld.com/search_eng...368965.htm A 2009 report of strange goings on: http://www.webmasterworld.com/search_eng...828718.htm Try a search for: Amazon.com robot Spidering my site. to see more references, searching Amazon Spider gets lots of nature photos.
