I am thinking of giving up my atheism so I can rejoin my Church community. Is that wrong?

Why don't you start an atheist support group in your area.

if social status is more important that what you believe, go for it. just look around next time everyone is waving their hands in their air, and ask yourself if that is really the crowd you want to associate with. if it is great, if not you will still be unhappy.
