Are you dissapointed Autism Awareness Month has been forgotten?
As a mother of an Asperger's Syndrome child ("aspie" I think), April is supposed to be about autism awareness, but so far the media has diagnosed April as:
Holocaust Rememberance Month
Couples' Month
Poetry Month
Karaoke Month

All these I have heard and more instead of autism awareness. Are you dissapointed?

Yes, I am. I have asperger syndrome too....I did make an 'event' on facebook where i got everyone to wear blue for autism awareness day. But everyone else have forgotton about it. There needs to be more awareness.

You've been watching and reading about the wrong thing.

At least 3 times a week I'm made aware of this horrible syndrome/condition.

One place was every Friday on "The Talk".

Autism Awareness is about autism anyhow, not Asperger's. They aren't the same thing.

My school is supporting Holocaust Remembrance. It's most unfortunate... but last year was no different. I guess people don't care until it affects them. It's also Earth week, which has got a lot of heat. But some people would say Earth week is more important because it affects everybody. Maybe that's true.

So, while I am disappointed, I am not surprised.
