Are you dissapointed Autism Awareness Month has been forgotten?
As a mother of an Asperger's Syndrome child ("aspie" I think), April is supposed to be about autism awareness, but so far the media has diagnosed April as:
Holocaust Rememberance Month Couples' Month Poetry Month Karaoke Month All these I have heard and more instead of autism awareness. Are you dissapointed? Ads |

You've been watching and reading about the wrong thing.
At least 3 times a week I'm made aware of this horrible syndrome/condition. One place was every Friday on "The Talk". |

Autism Awareness is about autism anyhow, not Asperger's. They aren't the same thing.

My school is supporting Holocaust Remembrance. It's most unfortunate... but last year was no different. I guess people don't care until it affects them. It's also Earth week, which has got a lot of heat. But some people would say Earth week is more important because it affects everybody. Maybe that's true.
So, while I am disappointed, I am not surprised. |
