Is doing something your parents don't allow a sin?

Hell does not exist and "thou shalt not partake in social networking" is not a sin.

It's a win-win for you.

MYTHICAL FIRE LAND WITH PIG/DEMON AS OVERSEER DOES NOT EXIST, PEOPLE. GET IT TOGETHER.

No, It's not a sin... however your parents might have a good reason to forbid it.
Talk to them...

Jesus can forgive you for EVERY sin, if you ask him Smile

If I remember correctly there's something about honoring your mother and father. And keeping it from them would be lying so that wouldn't help you there.

everything that God has declared to be a sin is a sin
all transgression of the law is a sin, (except, i protest tradition, all things that religious leaders say is a sin is not always a sin)

it is a commandment to honor Father and Mother.
it is a commandment not to lie.

It is a sin to your parents but not to God.

One of the Ten Utterances (Commandments) is " Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you." – Exodus 20:12 (NIV)
. Breaking a commandment would be a sin.

Life is difficult.

Perhaps you should tow the line right now.

Generally parents are not monsters; they've been feeding and protecting you all this time. They have their reasons. They generally care about you, and love you deeply more than you could ever understand (until you have your own kids.)

Read good books instead. Study hard. Excel in your classes. Networking, even on Y!A, is not a productive use of your time, and will not lead to your becoming the powerful, free, talented adult you wish to become.

Network with the great minds instead. They will be found with ink on paper. Read good books. Get educated. Get job. Go out on your own. Then make your own rules. It's a simple step-by-step process.

All my best you, feisty grasshopper...

The fact that you have a facebook, isn't a sin.. However, they don't want you to have a facebook, and by having one, you aren't honoring your parents wishes, so that is a sin. Because in the ten commandments, it says to Honor your father and mother. It is also the only commandment with a promise, that says if you honor them, you'll live a long life.

Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you. Honor means respect, look it up. Anyway you seem to know right from wrong. If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, ask for forgiveness and cut it out, you're not going to hell for that. The facebook is not a sin, the problem is disobedience and dishonor to your parents.
