If you adopted a child who had a brother who was adopted into a different family would you let them meet?

Add him as a friend and let HIM decide if he wants a relationship with you.

But do so with caution, because maybe they were trying to hide him from you because he doesn't know he was adopted.

Go for it. There is nothing to lose. If later he doesn't want to reconnect with you, it's his loss not yours.

im just guessing but your brother may not have know he was adopted so they didn't want him to find out by you getting in contact? or maybe he did know but they didn't want him to feel any less part of their family by knowing he has a brother in a different family. regardless of their reasons he is at least 18 now so legally an adult and able to make his own dissensions on wither he wants a relationship with you. so the family wont be able to file a restraining order on you on his behalf anymore.
not sure about contacting him through facebook though i would leave it as a last resort, it seems a bit.. impersonal? could you maybe find his address and wright him a letter
good luck.don't let fear of his parents or anything else stop you, you'll always wounder what could of happened.
