why is the internet one big popularity contest?
Why is everyone so desperate to appear cool to people that don't know them? Why do people create fake personas online and then attempt to big themselves up by having as many 'friends' on facebook or myspace, followers and retweets on Twitter, likes on facebook, and general +1 ratings on any site that allows it?
Why do you care? Y U No realise that internet experiences can in no way substitute actually going out and living a real life? Ads |

People generally accept life as a popularity contest. Sad but true.

it's a virtual world, you can be whatever you want. Some people "get it" some people don't
