Ghosts and spirits actually exist, but they are not really a mystery per se. What they are is spiritual manifestations of satanic beings. In other words, they are demons. Their purpose is to deceive people into thinking that they are actually of this world. That they are somehow the spirits of lost loved ones
coming back to visit from beyond the grave. In such a way, people become interested in psychics, which dupe them for money, and allow satan to get a foothold in their lives. That is why you have so many "mentally tormented" people in the world. Although not all of them are demon-possesed, many of them are. Eventually they end up dying, and going to Hell. So now you know.

There never were ghosts and spirits in this world. As a mortal human being... we could never see spirits. Why? As detailed in Hinduism scriptures, particularly Bhagavad Gita... we were primarily a spirit, a soul atman that manifested human form to cleanse self of dross impurities within. As a soul atman could not cleanse self of its own... it needs a medium, a body to work out its karma.

A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.

Similar as one KG of pure gold sandwiched in hundred KG lump of gold ore needs requisite machinery and processes for its extraction... every soul atman also needs a chain of bodies to gain absolute purity forever! We could never see our soul atman... we could only feel its presence in our heart by remaining truthful in life.

The philosophy of ghosts and spirits manifesting in life was a creation of those who indulged in vice or to safeguard some interests.

Normally ghosts and spirits were observed in abandoned houses. Why? These abandoned houses/places were suitable for thieves... dacoits to hoard their ill gotten wealth. To safeguard this wealth... they spread rumors about ghosts and spirits living in and around the building.

In present times... people spread rumors to gain publicity in social life.

There is a very old saying in India that sandalwood trees had lot of snakes coiled around them. This rumor was spread so as to safeguard these trees from smugglers. In present times... a full-grown sandalwood tree would fetch as much as $10,000~$30,000. That was a pretty good amount for a single tree falling into hands of wrong people. "Ghost" are not dead people, they are beings like us that are close but so far that we cannot communicate. I believe that ghosts and spirits are just images of beings that leak to our universe.

Totally astronomically low in numbers world wide and are very rare and unusual experiences that only a few people ever experience. And yes they are just as real as you are, but they are not a Physical presence, but a presence of energy that actually can materialize and become visible to the human eyes. We have more that enough Scientific Knowledge to support that kind of existence.
